Crazy day
Today began like any other day. Brian's prezi was thoughtful and very meta. And then Katrina puts us on the spot. The Ed Cafe was a bit stressful and then fun when not put in the hot seat. I would use this technique in the future with a group who could be organized and prepared. Hopefully next year!
As for where I see myself moving towards next week, well, completing and presenting my demo is at the top of the list. After that, I am also hoping to gather more writing techniques and processes as our time together moves on. It will be a little like being in a fish bowl when we are hosting MOOC as well.
From the beginning of the week until now, my ideas of what this project would be has evolved and it isn't just about having time to write and learn new writing techniques. It is about learning that ELA people are a bit nuts, dreamy and live in the abstract. And it is also about how to anchor our knowledge, no matter what are backgrounds are and effectively instruct students in the complexity of writing.
Lastly, the snacks today were delicious. The bar has been set high.
